As the demand for Supply Chain Optimization continues to grow, MEP answers the call.
The need to optimize supply chains is a well-documented aspect for the continued health and vitality of U.S. manufacturers. NIST-MEP, recognizing this need, assembled a team of supply chain experts to develop and pilot a program to address the numerous challenges faced by U.S. manufacturers. As a result, the MEP Supply Chain Optimization (SCO) program is a comprehensive suite of offerings designed to meet manufacturers no matter where they are in their supply chain maturity, to help increase their competitive edge. A great example is South Carolina’s Syn Strand who increased sales by $2 million as a result of supply chain projects.
The MEP SCO program is in the process of rolling the program out through our national network, and we are seeking Centers with interest and capacity to deploy. Is it for you?
Win: Win
Once a Center identifies a desire to learn and a capacity to deploy supply chain services and tools, the Supply Chain Optimization initiative offers a win-win scenario for MEP Centers:
Acquire Skills – Centers acquire the skills needed through a ‘train and do’ approach, in order to deploy SCO broadly to their clients through a no-cost initiative sponsored by MEP.
Added Resource – Centers take on an additional suite of offerings that help manufacturers to operate at optimum levels, including the incorporation of risk management plan and having information on total cost of ownership, to make the best sourcing decisions possible.
With engagements in total cost of ownership, risk management and strategy, MEP Supply Chain Optimization helps manufacturers and their suppliers to identify gaps in their current strategy and address them, systematically, through a coach, mentor and direct approach.
